The Worst of the Medicine

Standard

Now,
for years I struggled with
and
fought
with
and
persevered with
the need to take strong medication to cope with my
*asthma*.

Anti-Depressants !

The positives?

The emotional swing that is the curse of *asthma*
is contained and sometimes even dissipated
for periods of time.

However,
as with all medicine
there is a genuine need to consider the negative side-effects.

In my case it is a dry mouth.

“Not such a drama” – you say!

And you are correct,
certainly not compared to paralysis
hair loss
blindness
UTI’s,
etc.

BUT . . . . .

how long do you think you could handle having a dry mouth
every second of the day
– even in your sleep –
even while you are drinking a glass of water?!?

It just gets a little bit frustrating
to always be thirsty.

HOWEVER,
It does offer me a little perspective on
my ability to (attempt to) alleviate
my thirst
compared to so many hundreds of thousands of people in other parts of the world.

.

My ‘lot’ isn’t so bad!

Is it?
